Summary

First Candle is a nonprofit that helps prevent infant deaths from unsafe sleep and supports families who have lost a baby. They offer free tools and expert advice to help parents create safer sleep spaces, along with updates on product safety and recalls. Families can find support through grief counseling, online support groups, and peer volunteers who understand their loss. First Candle also honors lost babies through tree memorials and provides books and resources to help parents, teachers, and caregivers talk with children about grief. They work with communities across the country to make sure every family gets the care and education they need to help their baby reach their first birthday.
