Summary
The Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA) is a Black women-led organization that centers Black mothers and birthing people in the fight for health, rights, and justice. Founded in 2015, BMMA works to change policy, build research, improve care, and shift culture to support Black maternal health. They host events like Black Maternal Health Week, featuring block parties, walks, and community gatherings, and lead the Black Maternal Health Conference & Training Institute in Atlanta, a global meeting for learning, networking, and advancing equity in maternal care. BMMA’s work highlights birth and reproductive justice, respectful care, and the power of Black communities to lead change. For more information, email info@blackmamasmatter.org
